Part 1—Preliminary
1  Name
•            This instrument is the Migration (LIN 18/022: Determination of Daily Maintenance Amounts for Persons in Detention) Instrument 2018. 
•            This instrument may be cited as LIN 18/022.  

2  Commencement
This instrument commences on the day after registration on the Federal Register of Legislation.
3  Authority
This instrument is made under subsection 262(2) of the Act.
4  Definitions
In this instrument:
Act means the Migration Act 1958.
immigration detention is defined in subsection 5(1) of the Act.
5  Schedules
Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

Part 2—Determination
6  Determination of daily maintenance for persons in detention
For the purposes of subsection 262(2) of the Act:
•            the applicable item row of the table at Schedule 1:

(i) determines the daily amount for the keeping and maintaining of a person in immigration detention in Column 1; and
(ii) specifies the corresponding place of immigration detention in Column 2; and
•            the specified period of time for the maintenance of a person in immigration detention for each item of the table at Schedule 1, begins on the day of  commencement of this instrument and continues until 30 June 2019.
