Dated 24 July 2025 Brett White Assistant Secretary / Senior Executive Band 1 Immigration Engagement, Pacific & Major Events Branch Skilled & Temporary Visas & Capability Division Immigration Group Department of Home Affairs Contents 1  Name 2  Commencement 3  Authority 4  Definitions 5  Visitor (Class FA) Visa 6  Temporary Activity (Class GG) Visa 7  Repeal 1  Name   This instrument is the Migration (Class of Persons for Nil VAC—2025 Virtus World Athletics Championships) Instrument 2025. 2  Commencement   This instrument commences on the day after it is registered. 3  Authority   This instrument is made under the following provisions of the Migration Regulations:  (a) subparagraph 1236(2)(a)(iv) of Schedule 1;  (b) subregulation 2.07(5) for subparagraph 1237(2)(a)(i) of Schedule 1. 4  Definitions In this instrument: 2025 Virtus World Athletics Championships means the international athletics competition for elite athletes with an intellectual impairment, conducted by the International Virtus Sports Federation between 8 and 15 October 2025 in Brisbane, Australia. Accredited participant means a person formally endorsed by the local organising committee to attend or participate in the 2025 Virtus World Athletics Championships in an official capacity, including as an athlete, team or tournament support staff, technical official, or carer. Local organising committee means Sports Inclusion Australia. Official Letter of Invitation means a letter issued by the local organising committee inviting an accredited participant to attend or participate in the 2025 Virtus World Athletics Championships. The letter must: •     be on official letterhead; •    name the invitee and their role; and •     on request, be provided to the Department of Home Affairs for verification. Regulations means the Migration Regulations 1994. 5  Visitor (Class FA) Visa For subparagraph 1236(2)(a)(iv) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations, an applicant for a Visitor (Class FA) visa is in a class of persons specified if: (a) the applicant is outside of Australia at the time of the application; and (b) the application is made between the commencement of this instrument and 15 October 2025; and (c) the applicant seeks to satisfy the criteria for a Subclass 600 (Visitor) visa; and (d) the applicant provides an Official Letter of Invitation issued by the local organising committee for the 2025 Virtus World Athletics Championships, in which the applicant is listed as an accredited participant. 6  Temporary Activity (Class GG) Visa For subparagraph 1237(2)(a)(i) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations, an applicant for a Temporary Activity (Class GG) visa is in a class of persons specified if: (a) the applicant seeks to satisfy the criteria for a Subclass 408 (Temporary Activity) visa; and (b) clause 408.221 of Schedule 2 (Invited participant in an event) to the Regulations applies to the applicant; and (c) the applicant provides an Official Letter of Invitation issued by the local organising committee for the 2025 Virtus World Athletics Championships, in which the applicant is listed as an accredited participant. 7  Repeal   This instrument is repealed on 16 October 2025.
