AEST means Australian Eastern Standard Time. Internet application has the meaning given by regulation 1.03 of the Regulations. Regulations means the Migration Regulations 1994. written notice means an email from the Department:  (a) notifying a person that they can make a visa application using an approved form that is specified in subsection 6(1) in a manner other than as an internet application; and  (b) including instructions about how to provide the form to the Department. 6  Form, place and manner for making an application  (1) For the purposes of subitem 1225(1) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations, the following approved forms are specified:  (a) Form 1150 (Internet);  (b) Form 1150.  (2) For the purposes of subitem 1225(3) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations, in relation to the class of persons specified under section 7, the manner in which an application must be made is:  (a) using Form 1150 (Internet) as an internet application; or  (b) if a written notice has been given to the applicant:  (i) using Form 1150; and  (ii) attaching a copy of the written notice to the application; and  (iii) submitting the application and written notice by email to WHM.invited.applications@homeaffairs.gov.au within 7 calendar days after the day on which the written notice was sent, calculated using AEST or AEDST as applicable on that day. 7  Class of persons for Working Holiday visa applications   For the purposes of subitem 1225(3) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations, the specified class of persons is:  (a) an applicant who holds a valid passport that:  (i) was issued by a country or region mentioned in column 1 of an item of the table in Schedule 1 to this instrument; and  (ii) satisfies the conditions (if any) mentioned in column 2 of the same table item; or  (b) an applicant who:  (i) is in Australia; and  (ii) when the applicant most recently entered Australia—held a passport that:  (A) was issued by a country or region mentioned in column 1 of an item of the table in Schedule 1 to this instrument; and  (B) satisfied the conditions (if any) mentioned in column 2 of the same table item; and  (iii) since the most recent entry, no longer holds that passport as a valid passport. 8  Specified kinds of working holiday eligible passport   For the purposes of subclause 417.211(2) of Schedule 2 to the Regulations, the specified kind of working holiday eligible passport is a passport that:  (a) was issued by a country or region specified in column 1 of an item of the table in Schedule 1 to this instrument; and  (b) is held by an applicant who is in a class of persons specified in section 7. Note 1: A passport is not a working holiday eligible passport if it is not issued by a country or region mentioned in an item of Schedule 1 to the instrument. Note 2: Subclause 417.211(1A) provides for certain circumstances in which an applicant who: (a) is in Australia; and (b) entered Australia as the holder of a working holiday eligible passport that has since expired;  is not required to hold a working holiday eligible passport of a kind specified for subclause 417.211(2) at time of application under Schedule 2 to the Regulations. Note 3: For Schedule 2 to the Regulations, the definition of working holiday eligible passport is provided in clause 417.111. 9  Age   For the purposes of paragraph 1225(3AA)(b) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations, the younger age (if any) is the age, expressed in years, specified in column 3 of an item of the table in Schedule 1 to this instrument, in relation to the country or region in column 1 of the same table item. Schedule 1—Country or region, conditions and age Item Column 1 Country or region Column 2 Conditions Column 3 Younger age 1 Belgium Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of Belgium. 30 2 Canada Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of Canada. – 3 Cyprus Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of Cyprus. – 4 Denmark Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of Denmark. – 5 Estonia Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of Estonia. 30 6 Finland Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of Finland. – 7 France Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of France. – 8 Germany Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of Germany. – 9 Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China – 30 10 Ireland Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of Ireland. – 11 Italy Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of Italy. – 12 Japan Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of Japan. 30 13 Malta Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of Malta. 30 14 Netherlands Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of the Netherlands. 30 15 Norway Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of Norway. 30 16 Republic of Korea Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of the Republic of Korea. – 17 Sweden Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of Sweden. 30 18 Taiwan Passport must not purport to be an official or diplomatic passport. 30 19 United Kingdom Passport must indicate that the applicant’s nationality is British Citizen or British National (Overseas). – Schedule 2—Repeals Migration (Arrangements for subclass 417 visa applications) Instrument (LIN 22/051) 2022 1  The whole of the instrument Repeal the instrument.
